In April 2018, the Party Central Committee and the State Council proposed to build the whole Hainan Island into a free trade experimental zone and a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, which also provides an unprecedented development opportunity for iRENA to build "China's first sports industry platform " relying on the Wu Yuan He Cultural and Sports Center Project.
